Neo — the AI assistant

Added May 2026Updated June 2026 (Voice input & quick answers)

Neo works inside your Workspace chat — the same thread where you talk to your team. Ask it about your data, or have it draft a document from the conversation and attachments. Neo proposes; you decide. Nothing is ever created without your confirmation.

Neo is available on subscriptions that include the AI Assistant — see plans.

Talking to Neo

In any Workspace conversation, type @neo (or pick Neo from the @-mention list). The send button changes to Ask Neo, and the composer shows a Neo chip so it's always clear who you're talking to.

After your first message, a "Talking to Neo" chip appears and your replies keep going to Neo — no need to re-type @neo each time. To hand the conversation back to your team, @-mention a teammate, click Exit on the chip, or just leave it — Neo mode ends by itself after 5 minutes of quiet. Your internal chat is never sent to the AI unless you're explicitly in Neo mode.

Ask Neo things like:

  • questions about the document you're looking at, or your customers, items and balances
  • to draft a document — "create an invoice for this order", in a document's thread or in a fresh empty workspace (the Create a draft via Neo button starts one)
  • to read an uploaded invoice — Neo extracts the supplier and line items from the attachment for your review

If Neo needs one more detail, it asks — often with tap-to-answer choices. A Thinking… indicator shows while Neo works, with a Cancel link if you'd rather not wait.

The confirmation flow — you stay in charge

When Neo wants to create something, it never just does it. You get a proposal card headed:

Review — this is exactly what will be created:

The card lists every field the document will carry — parties, dates, line items, amounts — followed by three buttons:

  • ✓ Confirm — create it as a draft, exactly as if you had filled in the form yourself. A View link with the new document number appears when it's done.
  • ✏️ Edit — open the normal add form with Neo's draft pre-filled, adjust anything, then save yourself.
  • Cancel — discard the proposal.

Proposals expire if left unattended — an expired one asks you to have Neo propose it again. If a draft would also need a new customer or item created along the way, each such line needs your permission for that entity — you can't create through Neo what you couldn't create yourself.

Voice dictation

On subscriptions with voice enabled, a microphone button in the composer takes dictation: tap to record, tap to stop, and the transcribed text is placed in the input for you to review — nothing is sent until you press send.

What keeps Neo safe

  • Your permissions, exactly. Neo acts as you — it can only read and propose what your own role allows. It grants nothing and bypasses nothing.
  • Your approval on every creation. Nothing is created without you pressing Confirm, and what you saw on the card is exactly what gets created.
  • Clearly scoped conversations. The Neo chip, colored composer and auto-exit make sure team chat never drifts to the AI unnoticed.
  • Bounded turns. Every Neo response has a time limit and a Cancel button.
