Follow-ups

Added June 2026

A deal doesn't slip with a bang — it goes quiet. Follow-ups make sure someone always owns the next touch: attach one to any document, assign it, and it chases you until it's done.

Follow-ups work on invoices, purchase orders, sales orders, bills, GRNs, quotations, delivery challans, purchase requisitions — and on pipeline deals.

Create a follow-up

From any list, open the row's ⋯ menu and choose Add Follow-up. (On the Sales Pipeline, deal cards offer the same.) The dialog asks for:

  • Title (required) and an optional Description
  • Follow-Up Date (required — today or later)
  • Priority — Low / Medium / High
  • Assign To — who owns it (defaults to Unassigned)
  • About (contact) — optionally pin it to a specific person at the customer, when the document has known contacts

A document can carry more than one follow-up — creating a second one warns you a pending one already exists, then lets you proceed. Some follow-ups are created automatically by the system around document events; those carry an Auto badge where shown, and behave exactly like manual ones.

My Follow-ups — your inbox

My Follow-ups lives at the bottom of the left sidebar (and one click away from any follow-up banner). It lists everything assigned to you, filtered by Pending (default), Overdue, or All.

Each row shows the title, priority, due date — Overdue rows are flagged in red — and, when linked to a document, an Open link that jumps straight to it.

Staying ahead of overdue items

  • On document list pages, a banner appears when the documents in front of you carry pending or overdue follow-ups, with an overdue count and an Apply Filter button that narrows the grid to just those documents, and a shortcut to My Follow-ups.
  • Reminder toasts surface pending follow-ups with one-tap actions: Reschedule (pick a new date) and Mark Complete.
  • In the Workspace feed, pending follow-ups show as colored pills (red = overdue) above the conversation, and follow-up activity appears in the deal's timeline.

Closing a follow-up asks for a short note — why it's being closed — so the record stays meaningful. Rescheduling just needs the new date.
