Sales Pipeline
The Sales Pipeline puts every open lead and enquiry on one board, so nothing goes quiet without you seeing it. Drag deals through stages, spot what's stale, and check how each salesperson is doing — all in one place.
Where to find it: open any dashboard under Biz View and select the Sales Pipeline tab (route /biz-view/pipeline). The tab appears only for users whose role has the Sales Pipeline permission — see Permissions.
The page has two views, switched with the Pipeline / Team buttons at the top.
The Pipeline board
A summary strip shows three numbers at all times: Open pipeline (total value of open deals), Weighted forecast (value adjusted by each stage's win probability), and Open deals (count).
Stages
| Stage | Deal type | Win probability |
|---|---|---|
| New | Lead | 10% |
| Contacted | Lead | 25% |
| Qualified | Lead | 50% |
| In Discussion | Enquiry | 60% |
| Quoted | Enquiry | 75% |
| Won | Enquiry | 100% (closed) |
| Lost | Lead or Enquiry | 0% (closed) |
Each lane header shows the deal count, the lane's total value, and its weighted value. Won and Lost are terminal — cards there are frozen and can't be dragged out. The closed-lanes dropdown limits how far back Won/Lost cards go (Last 30 / 90 / 180 days / Last 12 months; default 90 days).
Moving a deal
Drag a card to change its stage. While dragging, valid target lanes get a highlight ring; invalid ones dim.
- Between lead stages (New / Contacted / Qualified): the move applies instantly.
- Lead → In Discussion: this is the conversion boundary. The Convert to enquiry dialog opens — give the enquiry a title (the estimated value and expected close date are pre-filled from the lead) and click Convert. A lead can't jump straight to Quoted or Won; it must convert first.
- Any deal → Lost: the Mark as lost dialog opens and a Reason for loss is required before the move applies.
- Enquiry → Won: applies instantly.
Clicking a card opens the full lead or enquiry in a new browser tab. If you have the Follow-up permission, a card also lets you add a follow-up directly — see the Follow-ups guide.
Kanban or grid
The View mode toggle (top-right) switches between the Kanban view and a Grid view of the same deals. Your choice is remembered on this device.
Search, filters and presets
The toolbar offers a Search deals… box (matches deal title, number or owner), an All owners dropdown, a Min value filter, and a sort menu (Default order, Value: high → low, Close date: soonest, Name: A → Z).
One-tap presets answer the questions owners ask most:
- My deals — only deals you own
- Closing this week — expected close date in the next 7 days
- Stale — deals with no recent movement
- No next action — deals with nothing scheduled
The active preset is remembered on this device. A Clear button appears whenever any filter is active. Lanes load a capped number of cards; use Load more to raise the cap. While filters are active, lane totals reflect only the loaded, filtered deals — the board says so in an amber note.
The Team view
Three sub-tabs report on your salespeople:
- Pipeline — a leaderboard with one row per rep: Open deals, Open value, Weighted value, Stale count (flagged red), Won count and Won value.
- Activity — calls, meetings and completed follow-ups per rep over the last 30 days, sorted by total activity.
- Conversion — win rate by rep, each with a confidence band based on sample size. This tab additionally requires the Reports permission.
Permissions
| To do this | The role needs |
|---|---|
| See the board and Team tabs (read-only) | Sales Pipeline — View |
| Drag lead cards between stages | Leads — Edit |
| Drag enquiry cards / mark Won or Lost | Enquiry — Edit |
| Add a follow-up from a card | Follow-ups — Create |
| Open the Team → Conversion tab | Reports — View |
Users without the Sales Pipeline permission don't see the tab at all, and visiting the page directly shows a no-access screen. With View only, the board is read-only: you can look, filter and open deals, but not move them. Admins grant these levels on the role-permission grid — see Role Permissions.
