Data Sync

Plenty of businesses run day-to-day operations in one place and keep their books in Tally, where their accountant is comfortable. Data Sync keeps the two in step. It sends records both ways — from Tally into Bizconnekt, and from Bizconnekt into Tally — so something entered in one shows up in the other, with no double typing. You keep your Tally. Your accountant keeps working exactly as they do. And you get to run purchase, sales, stock and everything else in Bizconnekt without either system falling behind.

Tally isn't going anywhere​

This is worth saying plainly, because it's the whole point of the feature. Data Sync is not about replacing Tally — it's about the two working together. The choice is entirely yours: you can run your complete books in Bizconnekt on their own, or keep Tally as your books and let Bizconnekt sync to it. Many businesses do exactly the second, and Data Sync is built for them. Your accountant stays in the tool they know; you get a modern system for everything else; and neither of you re-keys what the other has already entered.

What gets synced​

Data Sync handles two kinds of information, both ways:

MastersYour standing lists — accounts, customers, suppliers and items. These are the names both systems need to agree on before transactions can line up.
VouchersThe day-to-day transactions — invoices, bills, payments received, payments made, journals, and credit and debit notes.

Records that come in from Tally are created in Bizconnekt exactly as if you'd entered them yourself — the same checks apply — so a synced record is a proper Bizconnekt record, not a lesser copy.

Setting it up (once)​

Live, two-way sync runs through a small helper that sits on the computer where Tally is installed and passes data back and forth. Your admin sets this up one time:

  1. Install the connector on the machine that runs Tally, and connect it to your Bizconnekt account.
  2. Map your accounts so Tally's ledgers line up with your Bizconnekt accounts, and any that need a human decision are reviewed.

Prefer not to connect live? You can also bring data in from a file your accountant exports from Tally, without the connector running. It's the same Data Sync page.

Running a sync​

From the Data Sync page you choose the direction and what to move:

  1. Bring records in from Tally. Pick what to pull — masters, vouchers, or both — and the date range you want, and Data Sync brings them into Bizconnekt.
  2. Send records out to Tally. Push your customers, suppliers, items and pending documents out so Tally matches what's in Bizconnekt.
  3. Or import from a file. If you'd rather not connect live, import from a file exported out of Tally instead.

If Tally happens to be switched off or unreachable when you start a live sync, Data Sync tells you so and simply waits until it's back — nothing is lost.

Checking a sync went through​

Every run is recorded, so you're never guessing whether it worked. For each run you can see:

  • Its status — in progress, finished, finished with some records needing attention, or failed.
  • How many records were brought in or sent out, and how many were skipped or need a look.
  • The direction — whether it came in from Tally or went out to Tally.

Summary figures at the top track how much has been synced overall and what's still pending, and you can filter the history by direction or status to find a particular run. If a few records need attention, the history points you to them so you can resolve them and re-run.

A record you edit in Bizconnekt is sent to Tally on your next sync, not the instant you save it — so run a sync (or wait for your scheduled one) when you want Tally to catch up on recent changes.
