Daily Production Report
The Daily Production Report (DPR) is how a supervisor tells Bizconnekt what a station made during a shift. You don't go into each work order and each step. You pick the station, type how many good and bad pieces came off it, and submit. Bizconnekt then spreads that output across the station's started work orders for you, takes the materials out of stock and puts the finished pieces in.
Availability depends on your plan and your role. The Daily Production Report is also switched on separately for each business unit by a Bizconnekt staff member. If you can't see it in your sidebar, or you see a message saying it isn't switched on, contact support at support@bizconnekt.com and ask for it to be turned on for your business unit.
Who can use it
| You want to | What your role needs |
|---|---|
| Look at reports and follow lines | View on Daily Production Report |
| Fill in and submit a report, and withdraw, retry or reverse a line | Edit on Daily Production Report |
| Report for an earlier day | Back-date Production, as well as Edit |
If a station has a list of supervisors, only those people can report for it. If the list is empty, anyone with Edit on Daily Production Report can. The list is set on the station's own page under Resources, in the Supervisors field. If you see "No station is open to you", ask an admin to list you as a station supervisor.
Open it
From the left sidebar, open Production and choose DPR (hover over it to see Daily Production Report). The screen has up to five tabs along the top:
| Tab | What it's for |
|---|---|
| Enter | Fill in and submit a shift's output. Only shown if you can enter reports. |
| Reports | Every report so far, newest work day first. |
| Needs you | Lines that haven't posted yet and are waiting on you or someone else. |
| Station week | One week at a glance, stations down the side and days across. |
| Before closing books | Decide what happens to unposted lines before you close a period. Only shown to admins. |
You can also press Add Daily Production Report at the top of the screen to go straight to Enter.
Fill in the daily report
- Open the Enter tab.
- Choose your Station. Bizconnekt remembers your last choice on this device.
- Check the Work day. It starts on the station's current work day, so a night shift counts toward the day it began. You can't pick a day in the future, and unless your role has Back-date Production you can only report for the current work day.
- If the station runs shifts, choose the Shift you're reporting for. It starts on the shift running now. You'll see Pick the shift you are reporting for only when no shift is running and you haven't picked one.
Below that you get one block for each item the station makes. Each block shows:
- The item's name, with an Assigned to you tag if one of its job cards is assigned to you. Those items are listed first.
- Left to make — how many are still to be made on the station's started work orders.
- The work orders the output will go to, with their due dates. Work orders with material on hand come first, then the earliest due.
- A grey note for any work order that isn't started yet, or whose step is waiting for an inspection, and for any quantity you've already entered that hasn't posted.
For each item you fill in:
| Field | What to enter |
|---|---|
| Good | How many good pieces were made this shift. Must be above zero. |
| Bad | How many pieces were bad. Leave empty if none. |
| Why are they bad? | Appears once you enter bad pieces. Pick a reason: Damaged, Dimension out of spec, Wrong item, Short shelf life, Contaminated, Packaging, Documentation or Other. |
| Where bad pieces go | Also appears with bad pieces. Not set, Rework, Scrap or Hold for QC. If you leave it as Not set, the stage's own default applies. If the stage has none, the pieces are held for QC where a quality rule names an inspector, and sent to rework otherwise. A quality rule that sends them to an inspector always wins. If the stage's default is Scrap but your business unit has no write-off account, the pieces go to rework instead. |
| Note (optional) | A short remark about the bad pieces. |
| Who made these | Only on stages that pay by the piece. Pick a worker and the pieces they made. Use Add a worker to share the output; the names must add up to the good pieces. |
If a material is tracked by lot, an Input lots line under the item lets you pick which lots to use.
You can leave items you didn't make this shift empty. Only the rows you fill in are sent.
What Bizconnekt checks as you type
A red message appears under a row when something needs fixing, and the bottom bar tells you how many rows to fix (1 row needs fixing before you can submit). Common ones:
- Only N of the item are left to make on started work orders here. You can't report more than is left. If you really made more, ask your planner for another work order first.
- Nothing is left to make of the item on this station's work orders. Everything planned has already been reported.
- A work order hasn't been started yet. You can still enter it. Your entry is saved and posts by itself as soon as a planner starts that work order.
- A step is waiting for its inspection result. Same again: it posts by itself once the inspector records the result.
- Choose why the bad pieces are bad. Required when you enter bad pieces.
- Say who made these. On piece-rate stages, the workers' pieces must add up to the good pieces.
Submit it
- When every row is right, press Check and submit. The button shows how many lines you're sending.
- A Check and submit window lists each item with its good and bad pieces and which work orders it goes to. Check it over.
- Press Submit, or Back to change something.
You'll see N lines submitted — each posts as soon as its inputs allow. Each line then moves through the statuses below. Most post within moments; you don't need to stay on the screen.
If you've already reported for this station, day and shift, the Already entered for this shift section underneath shows that report and its lines, so you can follow them without leaving the screen.
What each status means
Every line you submit carries a status, shown as a coloured tag with a one-line reason.
| Status | What it means |
|---|---|
| Saved, not submitted | Entered but not sent yet. You can Submit or Remove it. |
| Posting… | Being split across the station's open work orders. |
| Waiting for material | Not enough material at the station's location. The tag says how short you are of which item. It posts by itself when material arrives, the station before this one posts, or stock is freed, and is checked again at least every night. |
| Waiting for a work order | No started work order makes this item here yet. It posts by itself once one is started. |
| Waiting for inspection | Posts by itself once the step's inspection is decided. |
| Waiting: books closed | The books are closed for that day. An admin decides whether to post it on the first open day or withdraw it. |
| Needs you | It couldn't be posted. The tag says why. Withdraw it and enter it again, or Retry. |
| Posted | Done. Shows how many work orders it went to and links to the job cards it created (if your role can open job cards). A partly reversed line stays Posted and adds, for example, "2 of 10 reversed". |
| Reversed | Fully taken back. Enter it again if that was a mistake. |
| Withdrawn | Cancelled before posting. Nothing was posted. |
A waiting line shows how long it has been waiting ("waiting since" a date). It turns amber after a day and red after three. Open What happens next under a line to see when it will post and its history.
Fix a line
Depending on its status, a line offers some of these buttons (you need Edit on Daily Production Report):
- Submit and Remove — for a line that's saved but not submitted.
- Retry — send a line that is waiting for material or a work order, or that needs you, again.
- Withdraw — cancel a line that hasn't posted. For a line waiting because the books are closed, only an admin can withdraw ("An admin decides this line").
- Pick automatically instead — if you chose input lots and they're the problem, drop your choice and let Bizconnekt pick.
- Reverse — take back a posted line. Press Reverse, type the quantity (it opens on everything that can still be reversed), and check the preview of what will happen. If a reversal can't be done, for example because what was made has already been used, Bizconnekt says why and suggests reversing that first. Then press Reverse.
If your role only lets you see your own records, you can change only the lines you entered.
Review and view past reports
Reports
The Reports tab lists every report with its DPR no., Station, Work day, Shift, Reported by, and a count of its lines by status (posted, posting, waiting, needs you, not submitted). Click a row to open its lines on the right, with the same buttons as above.
To narrow the list, use Filter by station, the From and To dates, or type a report number such as DPR-0001 in Report number and press Enter. Each filter shows as a chip you can clear. If nothing matches you'll see No report matches these filters, and if there are no reports at all, No daily production reports yet.
Needs you
The Needs you tab is a to-do list: every line that's waiting or needs attention, oldest first. When it's empty you'll see Nothing is waiting. Every submitted line has posted. It's the quickest way for a supervisor to start the day.
Station week
The Station week tab shows seven days, stations down the side. Each cell shows N posted · N waiting · N needs you and opens that report. A day nobody reported shows Not reported; if you can enter reports, it's a link that opens Enter for that station and day. Use Previous week and Next week to move.
Before closing books
Admins only. Before you close a period, open this tab and choose the Closing date. It lists every line on or before that date that hasn't posted. For each one pick Post on the first open day or Withdraw, or use Apply to all. Press Preview to see how many will be withdrawn and how many will post, then Decide to confirm.
Common questions
I can't see Daily Production Report in the sidebar. It's switched on separately for each business unit by a Bizconnekt staff member, and your role needs at least View on it. Contact support and ask for it to be turned on for your business unit.
It says "No open work orders use this station". Nothing is started on this station. Start a work order, or check that the route names this machine.
I entered more than was left to make. Bizconnekt stops you. Ask your planner for another work order, then report again.
A line says "Waiting for material" — do I need to do anything? Usually not. Once the material arrives it posts by itself. If you'd rather not wait, withdraw it.
