Debit Note Overview
What is Debit Note?
Debit Note is a document issued to suppliers to reduce or cancel the amount owed on a bill. It creates a debit balance that can be applied against future bills or recovered from the supplier, adjusting accounts payable and expenses accordingly.
When you send goods back to a supplier, you can raise the debit note straight from the return: tick Enable auto debit note on the Purchase Return. It is unticked by default, so a return does not raise a debit note unless you ask it to. Otherwise, raise the debit note from here when you are ready.
