How to View and Edit Work Order Processes

Overview

The Work Order Process list is where all your routes live. From here you can see every route you've built, open one to check its stages, and edit it when the way you make a product changes.

note

Availability depends on your plan and your role.

Step-by-step guide

Step 1: Open the list of routes

From the left sidebar, open Production, then Work Order Process. The list shows every route you've created, each with the product it makes and its name — so a product made two ways shows as two clearly named rows.

Use the search box to find a route quickly by name or by the product it produces.

Step 2: Open a route to see its stages

Click any route in the list to open it. You'll see the full route laid out:

  • The name and the finished item it makes.
  • Every stage, in order, from the first step to the last.
  • For each stage, the materials it uses, the expected wastage, and the resource or skill it needs.

Reading a route top to bottom shows you exactly how the product is built — and the last stage is the one that produces the finished product.

Step 3: Edit a route

To change how a product is made, open the route and choose Edit. You can:

  • Rename the route.
  • Add a new stage, or remove one you no longer need.
  • Reorder the stages so they match how the work really happens.
  • Change a stage's materials, expected wastage, or the resource it needs.

Save your changes when you're done. From that point on, new batches that follow this route use the updated version.

Tips and best practices

  • Check the order after editing. Adding or moving a stage is the easiest place to get the sequence wrong — read the route top to bottom before saving.
  • Rename rather than duplicate when you just want a clearer label — you don't need a whole new route for a name change.
  • Keep one route per genuine way of making the product. Two rows for the same product should mean two real methods, not two near-identical copies.
