Raising Orders from a Planning Basket
When your basket is ready, you turn it into real orders. This is the moment the plan becomes action: your working list of buy-and-make decisions becomes actual purchase orders and work orders that your team can act on. This page explains the two steps — confirming your prices, then raising the documents — and how Bizconnekt keeps you from ever ordering the same thing twice.
Availability depends on your plan and your role.
Step 1: Preview and confirm the prices
Before anything is committed, you preview the basket and confirm the prices. You see every line laid out with the expected price you set while building it, and you get a last chance to adjust before real documents exist.
This is your safety check. Prices may have moved since you first added a line, or you may have been waiting on a quote. Confirming here means the orders you raise carry the right figures from the start, so nobody has to go back and correct a purchase order after it's out.
Step 2: Raise the basket
Once the prices look right, you raise the basket. Each line becomes a real document:
- One purchase order per supplier — everything you're buying from the same supplier is gathered onto that supplier's single order.
- One work order per recipe — each thing you're making becomes its own production job.
So a basket with two suppliers and one made product becomes two purchase orders and one work order, all created together from the one basket.
Each document stands on its own
Every purchase order and work order is raised as its own unit, with its own status. That means you don't have to raise everything at once:
- Raise some now and others later — send the urgent supplier's order today, hold the rest until you've confirmed a detail.
- If one document fails to raise for any reason, you can retry just that one without redoing the rest. The orders that already went through stay done.
You can never order the same demand twice
This is the quiet guarantee behind the whole flow: Bizconnekt never buys or makes the same demand twice. Once a line has been raised into an order, it's marked as handled. Come back to the basket later and you won't accidentally re-order what's already on its way — the system knows what's already been actioned.
Open and Materialised: the basket's two states
A basket has a simple life:
| State | What it means |
|---|---|
| Open | You're still building or raising it. Lines can be added, changed and raised. |
| Materialised | Everything in it has been raised into real orders. The plan is fully in motion. |
A basket stays Open while any of its lines still need raising, and becomes Materialised once every line has turned into a purchase order or work order. Seeing a basket marked Materialised is your confirmation that nothing in it was left behind.
What happens next
From here, your orders live their normal lives:
- Each purchase order goes to its supplier and is received in the usual way.
- Each work order becomes a production job on the floor.
You can follow and manage them from their own screens — the basket has done its job of getting them all created cleanly.
