GSTIN

GSTIN is where you record your GST registration number for each place of business. This is the number the GST department has issued to you, and it's what identifies your business on every tax invoice you raise and every return you file.

If your business operates in more than one state, you'll have a separate GST registration for each — and you can add all of them here. Bizconnekt then uses the right one on the right documents.

Who can set this

GSTIN records are managed in Bizconnekt Admin by owners and administrators. Keep them accurate — they appear on invoices your customers receive and feed the figures in your GST returns.

Why record your GSTIN here

  • Invoices carry it automatically — your GST number prints on the tax invoices your customers receive, as the law requires.
  • The right tax is worked out — comparing your registered state with your customer's or supplier's state is how Bizconnekt decides between within-state and inter-state GST.
  • Returns line up — every document is stamped with the correct registration, so your GST figures reconcile cleanly when you file.
  • Each location is covered — a business with registrations in several states keeps them in one place, each tied to the branch it belongs to.

How do I open GSTIN settings?

  1. Open Bizconnekt Admin.
  2. Go to Settings in the left menu.
  3. Open Taxes & Compliance.
  4. Select GSTIN.

You'll see the list of GST registrations already recorded, if any.

Adding a GST registration number

  1. On the GSTIN screen, choose Add.
  2. Enter your details:
What you enterWhere to find it
GST registration numberThe 15-character number on your GST certificate
Legal nameYour business name exactly as it appears on the certificate
Trade nameThe name you trade under, if different
Registered addressThe address on file for this registration — building, area, city, state and pincode
  1. Choose Save.

The registration appears in your list and is ready to use on documents.

Match your certificate

Enter the number and legal name exactly as they appear on your GST certificate. The first two digits of the number are your state — make sure the address you enter is in that same state, so tax is calculated correctly.

Adding more than one registration

If you're registered in more than one state, add each registration the same way, one at a time. Each one is tied to the branch or location it belongs to, and Bizconnekt picks the correct registration for a document based on the location handling it.

For example, a business registered in both Delhi and Maharashtra records both numbers here — the Delhi registration is used on documents from the Delhi branch, and the Maharashtra one on documents from the Maharashtra branch.

Updating or removing a registration

  • To update — open the registration from the list and change the details you're allowed to edit, such as the trade name or address. Your registration number and legal name are official details from your certificate and are normally kept as recorded.
  • To remove — you can delete a registration that isn't in use. A registration that's already been used on documents, or is tied to an active branch, is kept so your records and returns stay complete. In that case, stop using it rather than deleting it.

What this affects on your documents and returns

  • On invoices and other documents — your GST number is shown as part of the tax details your customer or supplier sees.
  • On tax calculation — your registered state is compared with the other party's state to apply the correct within-state or inter-state GST.
  • On returns — every document is linked to the correct registration, so the figures you report are grouped and totalled the way the GST portal expects.

Add your GSTIN before you raise your first document, so your invoices are complete and compliant from day one.
