Production Store

Set the default store for each location. When a work order stage is executed at that location and nobody has picked a store for it, this store is filled in automatically. Operators can still change it on the stage, except when Material Handover is in strict mode — then the store comes from the material issue.

Without a default, a stage at the work order's own location uses the work order's store, and a stage at any other location needs the operator to pick one.

Who can see it

The Production group under Configuration is shown only to tenant administrators. To use this page your role also needs View access on Store — without it, the page tells you so.

Before you start​

  • The business unit needs at least one active location (an address on the business unit). With none, Add default store stays unavailable and the page says why.
  • Each location needs at least one store. If a location has none, the page asks you to create one in Inventory → Stores first.

Set a default store​

  1. In the Admin console, open Configuration → Production → Production Store.
  2. Click Add default store.
  3. Step 1 — choose a location. Only locations without a default yet are listed.
  4. Step 2 — choose a store. Only active stores at that location are listed.
  5. Click the tick to save, or the cross to cancel.

Each location can have one default store. When every location has one, the page tells you so and Add default store is no longer offered.

Change or remove a default​

  • Change store (pencil) — pick a different store for that location and save.
  • Remove (bin) — confirm, and operators executing a stage at that location go back to picking a store by hand.

Rows marked "No longer available"​

A default can stop working after it was saved — for example, if the store is deactivated or the location becomes inactive. The row is then marked:

  • No longer available — pick another store: edit the row and choose a store that is still active.
  • No longer available — this location is inactive; remove this row: remove the row.

While any row is marked, you must fix or remove those rows before you can add or change anything else. Removing one marked row removes all of the marked rows together.

What operators see​

  • On the Execute screen, the store is pre-filled with the location's default. They can change it.
  • Once a stage has started on a store, it keeps that store — setting or changing a default mid-stage doesn't move the rest of that stage's material.
  • If the saved default can no longer be used, the stage is refused with a message asking an admin to update it here.
  • If your business unit runs Strict material handover, the store comes from the posted material issue instead.
