Payment Settings

The Payments page decides whether the Payments Made form asks for the supplier's bank account — the account you are paying into — before a payment can be saved. Turn it on when you want every bank payment to carry complete remittance details.

The setting is off by default and is set per business unit.

Turn the bank-details rule on or off

  1. In the Admin console, open Configuration → Finance → Payments.
  2. Switch Ask for bank details on payments made on or off. The text beside the switch reads Asked for on the form or Not asked for.
  3. Click Save. The Save button appears only after you change the switch.

Anyone already signed in picks up the change when they refresh their browser — moving between screens is not enough.

It is a rule for the form

The rule applies when a payment is entered on the Payments Made form in the web app. A payment recorded from a bank statement, from the mobile app, or brought in by an integration can still arrive without bank details.

Why is there no setting for payments received?

On a payment received, the account the money lands in is Deposit To, which is already required. The bank details on a receipt are your customer's own account, which you would not normally hold — so there is nothing extra to ask for.
