Pricing Settings

The rules you set once for how prices are decided — which pricing features are switched on, how customers and suppliers are grouped for pricing, the price tiers you offer, and how strictly the suggested price is enforced. Start simple and turn on more as your pricing grows.

Where to find it

Open the Bizconnekt admin console and go to Settings → Entity → Pricing. You need Tenant Administrator access.

Which pricing features can you turn on?

Pricing starts simple. Switch on only what you need:

FeatureWhat it does
Customer pricingPrice differently for different kinds of customer — for example, retail versus wholesale.
Supplier pricingApply the same idea to what you pay different kinds of supplier.
Price tiersDefine named price levels — such as standard, premium or dealer — that a price can fall into.
Volume discountsGive a better price as the quantity goes up.
Early-payment discountsReward customers who pay sooner.
Price controlsPut limits around the price a user can enter, so no one sells below your rules.
Calculated pricingDerive a tier's price from another tier, using a markup, margin or discount, instead of typing each one.

Grouping and tiers

  • Customer and supplier types let you sort your partners into groups (with sub-groups) and give each group a default price tier.
  • Price tiers are the price levels themselves. A tier can hold a fixed price, or be calculated from a base tier by a markup, margin or discount — and you can cap the discount or set a minimum margin so a tier can never break your rules.
  • Default tiers pick the tier a sale or a purchase uses when nothing more specific applies.

How strictly is the price enforced?

You choose what happens when a user's price differs from the suggested one:

SettingMeaning
SuggestedShow the price as guidance; the user may change it.
MandatedThe price is fixed; it cannot be changed.
FloorSet a lowest allowed price.
CeilingSet a highest allowed price.
BandAllow a price only between a floor and a ceiling.
NoneNo price rules are applied.

You can also set price expiry alerts — how many days ahead you are reminded that a price is about to lapse.

How to configure pricing

  1. Go to Settings → Entity → Pricing.
  2. Turn on only the pricing features you need to start.
  3. Set up your customer and supplier groups, and the price tiers you offer.
  4. Choose the default tier for sales and for purchases.
  5. Pick how strictly the price is enforced.
  6. Set how far ahead you want price-expiry reminders.
  7. Click Save.

What it affects

These rules decide the price suggested on quotations, sales orders, invoices and purchase documents, and how far a user may move it. Changes apply to new documents going forward.
