How to Add an Enquiry in Bizconnekt Sales

Raising an enquiry takes a minute. You give it a short title, describe what the customer needs, add a few useful details, and save. Bizconnekt gives the enquiry its own reference number automatically, so you never have to invent or track one yourself.

note

Availability depends on your plan and your role.

How do I raise a new enquiry?

Follow these steps to log a new opportunity.

  1. Open the Sales menu.
  2. Select Enquiry.
  3. Click Add (or New Enquiry).
  4. Type an Enquiry Title — a short line describing what is wanted, for example "500 steel brackets, monthly". This is the only detail you must fill in.
  5. In Requirement, describe in plain words what the customer needs.
  6. Set the Priority — Low, Medium or High — so your team knows how hot the deal is.
  7. Answer Is this an existing customer? with a simple yes or no.
  8. Add the contact details — the person's name, company, phone and email — especially for an enquiry that came in directly rather than from a lead.
  9. Fill in any of the optional details below that help you quote well.
  10. Choose who the enquiry is Assigned To, then Save.

That's it. The enquiry now appears in your list with its own reference number, ready to work.

What is the reference number, and do I create it?

No — you never create it. As soon as you save, Bizconnekt gives the enquiry an automatic reference, such as ENQ-2526-0001. It is unique, it never repeats, and it is how you and your team refer to the deal in conversation, on the pipeline, and later on the quotation.

Do I add prices or item rows here?

No. An enquiry is about capturing the requirement, not pricing it. You do not enter priced item lines on an enquiry — those belong to the quotation, which you raise later from the enquiry once you are ready to send a price. Keeping prices out at this stage means you can log an opportunity quickly, even before you have worked out the numbers.

Common issues

I can't find the Add button. Check with your manager — what you can see and do depends on your plan and your role.

I don't have all the customer's details yet. That's fine. Only the title is required. Save what you have and fill in the rest later as the conversation develops.

Where do I put the price? Not on the enquiry. You add prices when you raise a quotation from the enquiry — see the guide below.
