View & Manage Stores

Overview​

The Stores list shows every store and store group you've set up, across all your sites. From here you can open a store to check or change its details, retire one you no longer use, or add a whole batch of stores at once with a bulk import. This guide covers all three.

Availability depends on your plan and your role.

Prerequisites​

  • At least one store or site already exists to view
  • Your role allows you to view stores (editing and importing may need a higher level)

Reading the Stores list​

From the left sidebar, open Stores & Inventory and go to Stores.

The list shows your stores and groups together. For each one you can see, at a glance:

  • Its name and auto-generated code
  • The site it belongs to
  • Its kind — a real store, or a group (folder)
  • Its storage type label, if you set one
  • Whether it's Active

Groups can be expanded to reveal the stores nested inside them, so the list mirrors how your buildings and zones are laid out. Use the search and filters at the top to jump to a store by name, site or status.

Editing a store​

  1. In the Stores list, click the store you want to change.
  2. The store's form opens with its current details.
  3. Update any field — for example, rename it, change its storage type label, adjust its capacity, or move it under a different parent group.
  4. Click Save.

A few points worth knowing:

  • The code is fixed once created — you can change the name, but not the auto-generated code.
  • Changing a store's details does not move any goods. Where stock sits only changes when you actually move it.
  • If you change which site a store belongs to, remember the site is what holds the value of stock — so this is a meaningful change, not just a label.

Retiring a store you no longer use​

You don't have to delete a store you've stopped using — turn it inactive instead.

  1. Open the store from the list.
  2. Turn the Active toggle off.
  3. Click Save.

An inactive store drops out of your everyday lists and can no longer receive goods, but its history stays intact. This is the tidy way to close down an area without losing the record of what was once kept there.

Before retiring a store, move any goods still sitting in it to another store. A store move within the same site is a free re-tag; moving to a different site is a Stock Transfer.

Adding many stores at once (bulk import)​

If you're setting up several stores together — say, kitting out a new warehouse — you can add them in one go with a spreadsheet instead of filling the form again and again.

One row in the spreadsheet = one store.

  1. On the Stores list, choose the bulk import option.
  2. Download the template so your columns line up with what Bizconnekt expects.
  3. Fill one row per store — the same details you'd type on the form: name, the site it belongs to, its kind (store or group), and any optional storage type, capacity and parent group.
  4. Upload the completed sheet.
  5. Review what will be created, fix anything flagged, and confirm.

The imported stores follow exactly the same rules as ones you add by hand — including that a name only needs to be unique within its site, and that each store gets its own code automatically.

Common Issues & Solutions​

Issue: A store is missing from the list

  • Solution: It may be inactive, or hidden by a filter. Clear the filters or include inactive stores, and check you're looking at the right site.

Issue: I can't edit a store

  • Solution: Viewing and editing can need different permission levels. If the fields are read-only, ask whoever manages your access.

Issue: A bulk import row was rejected

  • Solution: The most common causes are a site name that doesn't match an existing site, a duplicate store name at the same site, or a missing required field. Fix the flagged rows and re-upload.

Issue: I retired a store but its stock is still showing

  • Solution: Turning a store inactive doesn't move goods. Move any remaining stock out first, then retire it.

Verification Checklist​

  • The store you edited shows its updated details in the list
  • A retired store no longer appears in everyday lists and can't receive goods
  • Bulk-imported stores appear under the correct sites with their kinds set right
  • Every store you expect to use is marked Active
