Label Layouts
A label layout says what a package label prints, at what size, and with which barcode. You tick the fields you want, put them in order, choose the barcode, and a sketch beside the form shows the result as you go. It is a field picker, not a drawing tool. Open the list with Ctrl+K (Cmd+K on a Mac) and search for label layouts; see Packages and labels for the other ways in.
Availability depends on your plan and your role. You need View on Label Layout to see the list and Edit to add, change or delete.
If you add nothing
Every business unit already has a built-in label: a Standard 4 × 6 shipping label, portrait, with your logo and a Code 128 barcode of the package code. It prints ship-from, ship-to, the challan or invoice number, "package 3 of 12", the contents, net weight, gross weight, carrier and AWB / tracking number. Add a layout only when you want something different.
The label layouts list
Each row shows the Code, Label Layout, Size, Barcode Prints, Used For and whether it is Active. Updated At can be added from the column chooser. Used For reads Default for this unit, Any package, or the customer and package type the layout is limited to.
You can search by name or code, filter by Active and inactive / Active only / Inactive only, and use View, Edit or Delete on a row. With the right to add, Add Label Layout and a bulk import are offered.
Add a label layout
Click Add Label Layout, fill in the form and click Add.

Barcode
| Choice | Options |
|---|---|
| What it carries | Our package code, Customer's box code, or SSCC-18 |
| Type | Code 128, QR code or GS1-128 |
| Also print the code as text under the barcode | Tick to print the readable code too |
| Print a second barcode | For example our code and the customer's. The second barcode must carry a different code from the first. |
| Print the business unit's logo | Tick to show your logo |
About SSCC-18. An SSCC is a standard 18-digit shipping code built from your GS1 company prefix. Each package gets its own SSCC the first time a label that carries one is printed, and keeps that same SSCC afterwards. If no prefix is saved yet, the form shows Set the GS1 company prefix in admin Settings → Packages to print SSCC labels. — enter it in Package settings.
Who uses this layout
Leave Customer and Package type empty for a general layout, or fill either or both to limit it. Tick The default for this business unit for the layout used when nothing more specific applies.
When a package's label is printed, Bizconnekt picks the most specific active layout, in this order:
- a layout for this customer and this package type
- a layout for this customer
- a layout for this package type
- the business unit's default layout
- the built-in standard label
If two layouts tie, the one changed most recently is used. A general layout (no customer, no package type, not the default) is listed as Any package, but it is never picked automatically. To use it, mark it as the default, or limit it to a customer or a package type.
Rules the form enforces:
- A default layout applies to every package, so it cannot also name a customer or a package type.
- Only one layout can be the default. If another already is, the message names it and asks you to untick it there first.
- Width and height must be between 20 and 300 mm.
Active controls whether the layout is offered when printing labels. Untick it to retire a layout.
